BHIM Mobile Payment App Launched: As per the announcement made on Friday by India’s current Prime Minister, Narendra Modi promoting digital money transaction throughout India, an app was launched based on Unified Payment Interface (UPI) which is called as BHIM (The Bharat Interface for Money) and developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NCPI).

Good News to all the Android phone users is, BHIM Mobile Payment App is already available on Google Play Store and easy to download with an application size of 1.90 MB (updated Dec 30, 2016) which saves space compared to other mobile banking apps and it is handy for many users. An iOS version will be launched soon. BHIM is easily compatible with other UPI apps and bank accounts as well.

Use of the BHIM Mobile Payment App
1.Send or Request Money.
2.Scan & Pay
3.View transactions
4.Check profile and add Payment Address
5.View Bank account details, reset UPI PIN    and change UPI PIN

Your mobile number is your payment address (PA). You will need this every time you transact which is very simple to remember as compared to a unique ID provided by Banks. The default UPI address is your mobile [email protected] ([email protected]). You can create your own UPI address later.

Special Features of BHIM Mobile Payment App
1.You can change the bank account details to another bank account by tapping the 3 dots on top right corner and proceed. Select your bank name and bank account for the transaction.
2.This app works 24×7 and 365 days for your daily use and can work without active internet connection. You can use this app by dialing *99# from any mobile and follow the instructions to check your balance and transaction details.
3.Maximum transaction Limit: 10000 per transaction and 20000 per day.

How to use the app?
1.Install the application from the Google        Play Store.
2.Register & verify your mobile no. *SMS      charges will apply.
3.Create a four-digit In-app password.
4.Select your associated bank.
5. Set UPI Pin for the account.

Points to remember:
1.The phone number you intend to use  for the transaction has to be the same  number registered with the respective  bank A/c.
2.Maximum 10,000 Rs per transaction is        allowed, and a sum of 20,000 Rs can be      sent in 24 hours.
3.To activate the UPI. You just have to put    in the last six digits of your debit card          and the expiry date. It will get                       authenticated via an OTP.
4.You don’t need an Aadhaar card, or an      Aadhaar-linked bank account to use this    application.
5.You can also send money as the            previous way via Bank A/c number and  IFSC code.
6.The app itself has the list of UPI          supported the bank. If your bank is not in  that list, then it is safe to say that you  can’t use the app.
7.By default, the registered mobile                number is set as the UPI virtual payment    address (VPA). You can also create              another VPA via the app, for example,       [email protected]
